Hermit - browser reputation query

Hello,

Was looking for an Android browser that supports profiles.

Only one that works fine for my needs is Hermit.
It has multiple webApps that. Have its own profiles setup container with a complete isolated & quarantined sandbox (premium edition). Allows me to create webapps / profiles for same portal,located in different separated container sandboxed and...login with different credentials.
Works perfect in secondary profiles and running fine from personal storage,maintaining separated isolated settings.

However,despite working brilliantly, i have not heard too many reviews and/or "noise" about the product and im a bit worried about passing over a lots of credentials.

Appreciated if any of you with maybe deeper techies knowledge and expoaure can clarify it for me,please.

It's closed-source. The web site says why, and the rationale may or may not make sense for any particular user.

It seems unlikely that a small team would have implemented a complete web browser from scratch, and remixing any open-source browser would require source to be released. Meanwhile, the web site encourages users to keep their system WebView up to date. That combination suggests that Hermit is a closed-source wrapper around the system WebView. If that's accurate, it means that the overall security and privacy of Hermit depends on the underlying system: Hermit on a Samsung device isn't really the same thing as Hermit on a GrapheneOS device.

If it's closed-source and most of the code that runs is platform code outside of Hermit, maybe it's not surprising if there aren't a lot of security/privacy evaluations.
