First off, i found the rcs mega thread and have spent many hours reading (very informative, hasnt helped me quite yet). The short story is i have at&t, havent gotten rcs to work yet, and just trying to understand better how it works. Edit, with a regular pixel 9.
My specific question is how does it normally work when you have a group message with many different phone types, carriers, where some people have rcs and some do not? I have some previous group messages that popped right up on my pixel, and others i was completely blocked out of. I thought i was clever and went back to my old phone, left a chat, turned off rcs messages, then had them re add me on the new phone as mms. It did work to a point - i found out after a while that most people were getting my messages, but i only saw messages from 2 others. I assume these were people with rcs enabled i was missing but im so confused as to why they could receive me but i couldnt recieve them. And why i could get messages from 2 people.
Has anybody figured out simple work arounds like this to maintain group messages avoiding rcs for the time being?
