smjohnston This sounds similar to Issue #4301. That is being tracked, but it does not appear to be a high-priority item at present. One issue with the GrapheneOS team investing time in writing, testing, and maintaining that sort of change is that Google might change that code, perhaps in a conflicting way.
You may wish to subscribe to the GitHub issue, and it's fine to use the emoji reaction buttons, but the developers want to restrict issue comment threads to things like information that helps reproduce an issue (not relevant here) or information about fixes (such as pull requests). Posts along the lines of "I want this too!" or "Is there any update?" clutter the issue tracker and may result in comments being locked.
