So this morning my pixel 8 with graphene OS battery died. It seems like letting the battery die just wreaks havoc on this phone/OS combo so I normally try not to do it, but unfortunately did this morning. I was able to plug it in and re-charge while pausing the boot process (for some reason it thinks it has enough battery to boot some times and then just gets stuck unless you pause it). However, I got it up to about 20% battery, which should be fine, but now it is stuck freezing every time I get to the lock screen. Sometimes I can even start typing my password, then it freezes briefly and goes black. I can hard reset by holding the lock button and volume down. It gives me the option to start in fastboot, recover, rescue, restart bootloader, or power off. I'm not sure what to do here.
My goal here is to just at least be able to get into it to back up whatever texts/photos I haven't backed up for the past week or two. There are a few important things in there i'd like to save. To be honest i'm feeling very discouraged because I feel like my pixel/graphene phones constantly have problems - this is the third one i've been through in two years. Started with the infamous pixel 5 bricking, then the broken pink line screen on the 8, now this. Not sure if this is necessarily a graphene problem but I'm hoping someone here might have an idea.
Anyhow, any suggestions are appreciated.
