Is it possible to backup contact label memberships?

deltuzirtu A while back I looked at the vCard export/import code. Though there is room in the vCard format, the export code doesn't export labels and the import code ignores them.

There would be some issues on the import side... If I Bluetooth you a contact with a "Staff" label, should it go into your "Staff" if you have one? Should you acquire a "Staff" label if you don't have one? Also, I suspect Google decided after a while that cloud management of contacts was important to them and vCard wasn't.

Maybe try the "SMS Import/Export" app?

de0u it would just need to use a slightly different function "import/export backup" including lables and "import export share" excluding them to skip this problem. I havnt looked at the code, so maybe its not as straight forward as I imagine

I think the author of that app does respond to issue reports from users.
