Audible app difficulties

I'm having trouble making Audible work properly in GrapheneOS. I have Graphene installed on a Pixel 7 Pro, and I have to delete and reinstall Audible every few days, since the app stops being able to download audiobooks--it hangs at the preparing to download stage--a day or so after being newly installed. I'm also finding that books get removed from my device for no apparent reason.

I have given Audible network permission, but no other permissions. I am using ProtonVPN, but it doesn't matter whether this is connected or not when it comes to downloads. I haven't had similar difficulties with any other app.

gregcamp the best option is to download the audiobooks and use it with open source apps like voice audio book player.

Audible's audiobooks are DRM-protected, so OP will have to use the Audible app to listen to them.

W1zardK1ng The trouble there is that it would only work with the Premium catalogue books. It's not possible to download books from the Plus catalogue.

fid03 Thats why we need to convert it to m4a or m4b, steps are explained in the mentioned discussion thread.

gregcamp Which is to say, I can download the .aax files to my computer and convert them there, but that only applies to the Premium books. Plus books can only be loaded onto my phone.
