Iv been testing comaps and i don't like that I cannot click a house (like in gmaps) and get the full addr and postcode.

Is there a way to do this?
It should be basic obvious UI design...

I gmaps u simply hold ur cursor or screenpres on any property and the dialogue appears wit h addr inc postcode.

Does there exist a sstnav that works similar?

OSMand for a while and now trying Organic Maps.

Osmand is great for hiking/ outdoor activities as it used OS Maps API to give you full coverage which is usually paid for.
Magic earth is a passionate dev and like an old school satnav.

I should have pointed out, I need apps for driving not hiking

Therefore responsiveness and up-to-date map data are both crucial

I use OSMAnd for lack of a viable alternative. I've tried Magic Earth, and I'd be willing to pay to use it. But when I last checked, they didn't accept any form of payment that didn't require having a Google account. I believe it's good value, but I'm not going to have a Google account.

For my part, I don't find any of these anti-features particularly worrisome; but even if they were, I don't really want to go back to using paper maps, and that seems to be the only viable alternative for me right now.

I'm not particularly worried the "download ID" thing, because I only download maps once per handset.

gta3 do not compare CoMaps to GMaps, they are not the same. When I operate mapping software, I sually know where I'm going. What I value CoMaps for is transparency, relative simplicity and its routing options, it does the job great for me. If you want to look for random buildings, stick with GMaps or find your fix somewhere else.

Rick81 use a third party launcher (like Kvaesitso for example) that supports custom iconsets or images. Then you can change it to a picture of Mona Lisa if you fancy.

gta3 I don't get why some try to cram many features into one app and getting disappointed from results rather than trying to break it down where possible into simple steps.

You can use something like https://www.doogal.co.uk/FindPostcode
to find your postcode and share it to your satnav instead of doing it all in one app, that way you are not losing a lot of time and it just works.

Im not following your viewpoint here at all.

If im browsing an area within the map app, its obvious that it may well as just display the address to said area... Which goes hand in hand anyway... Its hardly "cramming it in"... Completely overdramatized nonsense
