Graphene Phone Locked for Days

Woke up this morning to a crappy lock of my phone for 40,000 minutes. Locked I supposed I slep on it and cause to to try to up open. Is there are way to reset this? Or do I really have to wait the 7-10 hours for the lock to come off.

synccd the only way you can reset the timer is by performing factory reset from recovery which of course will wipe all your data (and teach you a lesson) but will let you setup and use your device again. There are no ways to reset unlocking attempt timer on secure element other than succesfully unlocking your device, if there was, this would directly negate its purpose and would aid brute forcing attempts.

To be clear, you're saying your phone won't unlock for 40,000 minutes? That is not 7-10 hours, it's more like 28 days.

Turns out I miss read the timer. It was 40,000 seconds not minutes. It's down to 34,222 so it isn't too much long. Completely my fault, but maybe there's a way for GrapheneOS to stop this from happening or less the length, thought I see that could cause security issues

synccd the timer increases that much exactly for security reasons. You have to remember that your phone is now secure against anyone - including yourself. The demand to "decrease the timer" would be antithetical to the whole mission of GrapheneOS, so I don't see that happening any time soon.
