File transfer offline

I am looking for a way to transfer files and or images from 1 device to the other but whant to do it totally offline.. I been trying to do it with a usb cable but somehow I cant share from 1 to the other. Any idea how to do it true cable and if not possible if there is a other way to do it safe

Maketrades Though I have no problem transferring files between laptop and Pixel 8a phone with a USB cable plugged into my laptop's USB-C port, I can not transfer between laptop and Pixel tablet. Neither laptop nor tablet recognizes the other for data transfer, though the laptop can charge the tablet. I have tried multiple orientations of the cable's connectors, reversing the cable and a different cable as well, all to no avail.

Transfer between laptop and tablet works just fine, however, if I use one of the laptop's USB-A ports.

If anybody can figure out what's wrong with data transfer from the laptop's USB-C port, please let me know.

I looked at the video and really like this option just how far can you trust it that it doesnt send the files also to a server or something? I saw that there not need be a internet connection on the WiFi but who knows it saves it and sends it out when there is a internet connection.. Is this a derieus concern or over thinking unnecessary paranoid?

I believe GrapheneOS defaults to charging only when you plug in a USB cable (for security reasons - think public chargers for example). After plugging in the USB, try toggling the setting to allow transfers and see if that helps. (You should see a notification in your extended notification menu (pull down menu) when you connect the other device).

There's also the reliable external storage device method. USB flash drives work if they have a USB-C connector or if you have a USB-C adapter. Most flashdrives come pre-formatted as fat32, which Android has no issues reading/writing to. My Pixel actually came with an adapter in the box when I bought it.

I personally clear cache and storage of the app after file transfer finishes. When I turn my internet connection on there is nothing to send somewhere.

The app is fully open source and at least the F-Droid version is reproducible which means that it can be proven that the source code corresponds to the binary

The only thing i can think of is the USB C port on your laptop is thunderbolt only. I've got one of those on my laptop.

Thanks all I will try the localsend and will lett know this days here if I can reccomend to others.. Reviews are kind a mixed very good and very bad experiences
