Can't copy Live Photos from iPhone to Pixel using MTP host

I've directly connected my Pixel to my old iPhone with a Lightning to USB-C cable. I can succesfully use MTP host, select multiple folders and copy them to Pixel internal storage.
However, at some point the time remaining increases to several hundred thousand hours. This always happens when copying the same folders, so it seems like it can't copy certain files and it always get stuck at those files. I'm having this issue for quite some while now, updating to iOS 26 does not help and all the GOS updates in between also have not helped. This is with a Pixel 8a but also happens when I try it on a Pixel 6 with GOS. Any ideas?

Killjoy Is it possible to add precision to the description of what causes the problem to repeat?

For example, is it possible to zero in on one specific folder or one specific file that causes the copy to hang?

Or is it the case that the copy hangs every time after a number of minutes that is the same?

What is the total size of the files that the copy job is trying to copy?

The iphone presents files in one folder per month e.g.: 202001_a, 202002a, 20203_a etc. It always hangs on the same folders, whether I copy multiple folders at once or just one at a time. Other folders copy just fine. It probably hangs at copying specific files in those folders. But as the filenames are not logically ascending, it's rather hard to say at which files exactly it hangs. There are about 300-500 files per folder, though it doesn't show total size. Mostly photos, only a few videos.

Killjoy Is it possible to try to copy half of the files in one of the troublesome folders, then one quarter, etc. to try to isloate one particular file that won't copy?

Is it possible to try a different cable?

Is it possible to copy the files onto a laptop and then onto the Pixel?

I finally found the issue. It always hangs at certain .mov files. Recorded videos are fine but the issue is with Live Photos files. They're .mov files. If I remove the live photos it can copy the whole folder just fine. It's strange though that it can't copy the live photos file. I understand Android or GOS may not be able to open/view them but it should at least be able to copy the files.
