Hey, I know this topic has been talked to death but I can't seem to find a specific answer anywhere

My current understanding is that google wallet only disallows NFC payments with credit/debit cards, but it is possible to get it to work with things like public transit passes/rewards cards/etc?

If that's true

How do you actually get google wallet to run on grapheneos (ELI5 pls)
Is there a way to tell whether a non-payment service will work prior to adding it/attempting to use it?
Specific to Australians, anyone got myki or opal working?

I use the NFC enabled metro pass in my Pixel 7 Pro (owner profile) with no issues.

cdflasdkesalkjfkdfkjsdajfd how did you get the app to even open? Its just stuck on 'chose an account' for me. Anytime i try to login to google thru the store or sandboxed google settings i run into an error before i can even try

I thought you were asking if NFC could be used for non-payment apps, and I mentioned that I use NFC for my city's public transportation service.

No, Google Wallet won't work for you.

Get a plastic card, if your transport authority still provides them. Not everything belongs on the phone.

For my locality, there's plastic RFID cards or app generated QR codes (with timestamp – you definitely need the app).

Pulling out my phone, unlocking, bipping, bopping, swiping and swooping to get to the darn QR code every time there's a ticket inspection soon got old. Hated it.

Going back to plastic card eliminated a lot of stress...
