Secure and battery-efficient phone tracking options

Hi everyone,

I’m a completely new GOS user and still exploring its features. I’d like some advice on reliable apps or methods for tracking my own phone in case it gets lost.

My main priorities are security, reliability, and low battery consumption.
I’ve been considering PhoneTrack for Nextcloud, but I’ve read that it may use quite a bit of battery power.

Are there any other solutions you’d recommend?

Owntracks is a self-hosted service so you need a server.

Yes, owntracks works like a timeline, fmd has no history funcionality, but allows you for example to remotely ring your phone or take pictures.

Owntracks works like Google Maps timeline.
Fmd works like Google Find hub.
