Graphene OS and Tor only phone.

Hello,

I am thinking about combining a compatible phone running Graphene OS and Tor browser set up. I'm not really bothered with online banking, social media, or anything where I need to log into a site in order to access it etc., as this will be my first attempt at seeing how this combination works a real world setting. Is there any tips I should be aware of before purchasing the phone as I would be buying the phone anonymously in the UK. This would be more a security device rather than a all singing all dancing mobile phone.

Blaqtiger Make sure the phone you get is factory unlocked (i.e. OEM unlocking can be enabled in Developer Options). Avoid carrier variants as they're often locked. https://grapheneos.org/install/web#prerequisites

Blaqtiger Also, you might want to have a look at this: https://endoflife.date/pixel. Gives you an overview of the remaining support for various Pixel devices. Ideally, you'd buy a 6th gen device for longest support, but if you want to go for second hand devices, do the math and divide the price by the number of remaining months (hint: do not buy a Pixel 4 or older at this point).
