I apologize if I'm posting about something already answered, but I couldn't find anything in the forums that addressed this. And I did read the pinned thread on security pre-releases.

I'm using a Pixel 9 Pro XL, and I enabled the security preview updates. I saw this announcement, so I checked the version I'm currently running, which is build number 2025100901. I tried doing the system -> system updates -> check for updates, and it just does nothing. I tap it, it highlights then dims and I don't see anything else happening. This is in the owner profile after a reboot and first time unlock. I'm on the Release Channel Stable, could that be it? I'm able to open vanadium to github.com, so I have Internet and DNS...

IDtheTarget I'm on the Release Channel Stable

This is the reason, because you are on Stable but the current release is in Alpha. See here for more details: https://grapheneos.org/releases#about-the-releases

Releases are tested by the developers and are then pushed out via the Alpha channel. The release is then pushed out via the Beta channel shortly afterwards. Finally, the release is then pushed out via the Stable channel after being tested by users using the Beta channel. In some cases, problems are caught during Beta channel testing and a new release is made via the Beta channel to replace the aborted one.

Tip: on the Releases page there is a small info button in top right corner that if you press it will lead you to the page I linked above. Scroll down until you find your device and you will see which release is in Stable, Beta, and Alpha.

The forum's search bar is very picky with keywords, so you have to try multiple times to get good results. When searching the keyword "releases" the following thread appears as #16 in the list: https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/16321-grapheneos-version-2024100800-released/19

A better way is to search in your favourite search engine the following - site:discuss.grapheneos.org "releases"

It's just that there's SO MUCH to read to get informed on GOS, that I'm kinda getting overloaded.
