How to move iTunes music files to play in VLC?

I know, total noob quesiton. I swear I googled and searched this forum, I didn't see a simple "how to" on this.

I flashed GOS and am loving it, I want to move the files from my iTunes media folder to my GOS phone's music folder to be played on VLC.

Is this the best way to get my music onto the phone from iTunes?
Either way, how do I do whatever I need to do?

Intelligent_Hexigon what do you mean by "iTunes music files"? If we are talking simple AAC/MP3, then yes, just copy them over to some folder and you can play them locally (although VLC is a video player primarily).

I don't understand the second question. Do you need a manual how to transfer files via cable?

n3t_admin No, I plugged the phone into my mac and didn't see it show up as a drive. I tried moving one song over to the music folder via proton drive, and it wouldn't play.

Intelligent_Hexigon you need either OpenMTP or Android File Transfer (deprecated) for your Mac to recognize an Android phone. Install that first and try again.

I don't know how you moved the Song from Proton Drive, but a music file is just a music file. Do you have an app installed that can play music files?
