I recently switched to Graphene OS from iOS and am loving it for the most part. I switched and activated my new Pixel 9a on 10/4. I also disconnected my phone number from imessages that day. I mostly use Molly to message but I need to have group messages (MMS?) too. I've been using Quik for my messages but this problem works with the default gos messaging app too.
I'm not receiving group messages. I look at my partner's iphone who is in some group chats with me and see that the messages that are being sent default as RCS messages. Other people see my messages but I can't see any of theirs. Messaging to individuals works fine (I think lol).
I read this guide and did some of the steps (de-registering my number from imessages, turing on wifi calling, and resetting my mobile network settings, but none of it worked. I think I read somewhere that messages can be inconsistent up to 14 days after disconnecting from imessage and am wondering if I need to wait it out. Do I need Google messages with RCS to receive group messages? Should group messages automatically change from RCS to MMS when it detects that my phone is in the group and can't receive RCS messages?
I need help. I can't miss some of these messages. I almost missed an important message from my landlord. I really don't want to have to switch back to iOS. I can provide more info if it's needed to solve this issue.
