Tlhokaina Is it a new threat? I think everyone worried about disclosing their location should be mindful about giving the location permission to the apps installed. More importantly, Airplane Mode to avoid cellular tracking.

With Airplane Mode one is essentially left with little more than a music player.

Better would be the ability to identify the Stingray devices and not respond to their pings - or spoof the phone's IMEI.

This product and mobile networks in general don't work the way you believe they do.

That is no new threat and has nothing to do with the phones OS or anything that Grapheme would addresses. That kind of location data has been available since there was cell technology. Heck, the very basic tech of that has been around for thousands of years I.e. triangulation of an object to get a known distance/location. Those type of articles are sensationalizing it to elicit emotional responses to get views and stir things up. You can not use the cellular system without giving rough location position. Its like saying you want to be able to log into your Google account but do not want google to know someone logged into the account.
