On my new Pixel 8a with GrapheneOS I installed AnySoftKeyboard (version 1.12.7138) with the German layout addition (version 5.1.6158) which I have been using successfully on my old Samsung Galaxy S3 with an outdated /e/ OS installation.
But I fail to get the version with the characters "ä", "ö", "ü" and "ß" added to the default keyboard layout. I have selected the same option in the settings like on my old mobile but I still do only get the standard layout where I need to hold the base letter to access the German special char, which is rather cumbersome when I want to type more than a few words.
Did anyone of you encounter the same problem and found a solution for it?
I am uncertain if this is an AnySoftKeyboard or GrapheneOS issue, but so far I have no clue how I could get the keyboard working on my new device as intended.
