Who’s waiting to buy the Pixel 10 until GrapheneOS is released?

Who’s considering buying a Pixel 10 only if / once GrapheneOS becomes available for it?
And if so, which model exactly — and why?

My plan is to buy a used Pixel 10 once it's 1-2 yrs old if its supported just for the Qi 2 charging.
The pixels always tank in value on the used market when they are over 1 yrs old.
I do a lot of driving with the phone mounted and being able to just snap it magnetically would be perfect.
If the new OEM has Qi 2 charging then I would go with them instead.
Right now I have a 6a and there really isn't any other features that I am interested in.

I have a Pixel 9 with a magsafe case, works pretty well for "snapping it magnetically" when driving. :-)

Waiting to see offers on Pixel9ProXL vs Pixel10ProXl on Black Friday. Current Google 9ProXl deals are ok, but still too high for a last year's medium range hardware and measly 256GB flash. If good deals arrive, I'll snatch 9 or 10. Now waiting for GoS on Pixel10 to hopefully arrive before Black Friday.

Personally I'm more hoping that on the long term the second OEM with GOS support will enter the market in the future. Pixel hardware really is mediocre at best, incl. battery capacities, lenses, sensors, haptics, flash storage, and general overall sturdiness. If the prices were 500-700USD at launch, it'd be properly priced. $1000+ is just silly.

So, I wait for the prices to drop and hopefully GOS on Pixel10 series.

LeslieFH Can confirm, using a aliexpress aramid fibre case with 'magsafe' oriented magnets in it and never fell off in the car while driving without accidentally bumping it.

there are rumors pixel 11 will have more energy efficient cellular electronics.. I will see. the old one still works. If the battery will fail, i will probably have it replaced, the device is fast enough for me.. i have 7a, 2 1/2 yr

I'm waiting for the Pixel 10 Pro until GrapheneOS officially supports it. The Pixel 9 apparently doesn't have a good fingerprint sensor. I want to use fingerprint + PIN in addition to a long and complex random passphrase.

NothingButGrapheneOS the Pixel 9 actually has an excellent fingerprint sensor, which is based on ultrasonic technology. As far as I am aware, the Pixel 10 has pretty much the same fingerprint scanner hardware.

You're right, but the sensor built into the Pixel 10 is still a little better/faster. I'm traumatized by the fingerprint button on the Pixel tablet :D

I already got a Pixel 10 Pro XL, but still using my Pixel 8 Pro until GOS is supported on it. I also have a 9 Pro Fold, but I find it a bit annoying to use, as the front screen isn't centered.
I'm thinking about selling the 10 Pro XL now, and maybe get a 10 Pro Fold when GOS is out, but I'm not so sure yet.

For everyone else right now I definitelly recommend just waiting until GOS is ready. I got the 10 Pro XL with the 300 bucks Google Store credit but that won't happen anymore right now and you're probably better of waiting until it gets discounted on black friday or so.

I now bought a pixel 9 12/256GB to see if I like GOS and if I do I was planning to get a Pixel 10 Pro XL 16/512.
Now that I read about a GOS own phone with better hardware then Pixels I am considering waiting for that.
The P9 is specs wise comparable to my old OP9P (except Charging speed) so it does not feel like a downgrade hence I could wait.
