Google Play Services as a permission per app

It would be good if the actually google play services was a permission you could turn on and off per app. You could then have it off on most apps and just toggle on for apps that need it.

I don’t suppose anyone has managed to replicate something similar? I believe there are options using VPN or DNS?

GI1 are you asking for a new feature here? Google Play can see all your installed apps on the same profile and if it's not meant to see them, you don't really need it. Compartmentalize.

DeletedUser495 I need Google Play Services for some apps (otherwise they don’t work) but the majority it is not needed. If I have Google Play Services collecting data and sending to Google servers for all apps is it not good. I am asking if there is a way to only let certain apps connect to Google Play Services?

If it worked like a permission that would be great.

I believe there are ways using apps like NetGuard or configuring DNS but it is not really working.

I could use another profile but the workflow with multiple profiles does not work well for me. It’s slow and cumbersome to keep changing back and forth.

GI1 install Play services in Private space (I hope you are using launcher that supports Private space) and put all apps reliant on Play services in there. Set private space not to lock with device lock and this way you will always have access to it. It will respect the sandbox.

At the moment, user profiles are the only way to do this. Private Spaces (as suggested by DeletedUser495 ) are a special variety of user profile that may be more convenient.

There where talks about Account Scopes but after a couple of years nothing yet
