Spotify + Android Auto

It's not an Android Auto problem. A friend with a pixel 9 with original Os doesn't have the issue at all.

Charlize_Terun So it's likely an issue contained to GrapheneOS and its Android Auto implementation? I'm not familiar with Android development but I'll try to troubleshoot more if I can.

I'm sure this is a very low priority issue to some... but is this at least going to be acknowledged?

I was having this issue on my Pixel 9a running 2025122501 until I allowed notification permissions to Android Auto at Settings > Apps > Sandboxed Google Play > Android Auto > Notification access settings > Allow notification access. I use wired, not sure if wireless is different. I'm using Spotify installed from the Google Play Store and I have Spotify Premium.

zache Enabling notifications for Android Auto didn't fix it, but after I gave Android Auto call permission (handling calls) and turning on notifications for the Spotify app (in general), it's working now!

So either one, two, or a combination of all three of those, worked for me. :)

Koruudo Must be, I've got that enabled too. It's been working for me consistently since Saturday without any issues. I started a drive a few times every day this week.

Tried both: added notifications and call handling permission.

Interesting, that's all I changed and it suddenly started working for me. Watch, it'll stop working after a while 😂

I don't know which one came first, a Spotify update or GraphineOS, but it just randomly started working today.

I had made no changes, no nothing. I just left it as is until it fixed itself.

nineTHRTY I honestly wouldn't have been able to tell, either, cause I've gotten several Spotify and GrapheneOS updates recently. Haha!

It's seems to be fixed. I don't know what's been changed but now it works

All of a sudden, it's working again:
Spotify: 9.0.90.1229
Android Auto: 15.6.654484
GrapheneOS Build: 2026012101

Now, there are updates available (Play Store, Play Services, Android Auto). Did anybody try the current versions and it's still working for Pixel 8?
