instagram on grapheneos

hi! im running a pixel 9a with grapheneos installed on it, i recently bought it and im really happy with it, one issue that i have is that in my "spyware" profile (basically where i keep all the slop to still stay in touch with people that dont use stuff like signal or element to chat) i have instagram

problem is: the app is really goddamn buggy, sometimes messages people send me appear, sometimes they dont, sometimes when people respond to a message the message they responded to doesnt appear, sometimes it does
does anyone know what might be causing this, also be nice im new!

0neb do you mean like the notification or the message in the app itself? if it is in the app, it is a problem with the app and maybe reinstalltion/ clearing data might help, if not you probably should use the webapp? i am not sure
If it is notifications, you need google play services i think, but i guess you already have it installed..

Honestly it sounds more like a IG problem rather than a GOS issue. I have IG set up on my phone the same as you, in a separate profile and don't have those issues. I would try either clearing the data on the app or even just reinstalling it. With messages not appearing, do you mean the notification or in the actual chat?

The ig app is buggy by nature. Install Beeper instead it incorporates all your chats in one app.

Use the webapp. The app works but abuses the default permissions that stock Android grant it. Consider it malware

Until last week i had Instagram app on a dedicated profile (only IG and a VPN). I do not notice issues with it.
