Whatsapp and porting number to voip

I'm planning to port my number to jmp.chat, but I currently use WhatsApp with that number. I'm concerned that after the port, WhatsApp might block me from verifying the number if I switch to a new device or need to register again after a reset. Has anyone had experience using WhatsApp with a VoIP number that used to be a regular phone number? Is it working, or has WhatsApp flagged the number as blocked for VoIP re-registration?

I have signed up to WhatsApp using a VoIP number that was originally a carrier number. I am able to receive SMS codes, never got booted out, or flagged (as far as I'm aware). I did make sure to set up an account before it got ported to becoming a VoIP number. If you're worried that you wont be able to receive SMS codes to log into your account (some people have this issue according to some reddit posts), try setting up a passkey on your WhatsApp account using your password manager.

Vuraze Thank you so much! I wasn't aware that this was possible, and the timing couldn't be better. KeepassDX recently introduced beta support for passkeys, and I've tried it out. it's working wonderfully!
