Dear all,
I recently started using GOS on a Pixel 6a. I loved it so much I quickly decided to upgrade the device to a Pixel 9 Pro XL. I
used a thumb drive to backup device data from the 6 to the 9 via seedvault. I have found that videos on the 9 consistently glitch when being played on the 9 now. So for example an episode of something I'm watching with repeatedly slow down into slow motion then go back to normal speed again.
I can only assume that there has been some sort of corruption with the backup. Newly downloaded files that were not on the 6a also have the same problem whereas videos on the 6a never had the problem and still don't.
I am going to restore the phone and set it up - somewhat tediously - without a seed vault backup and I hope this will remedy the issue.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
I also noticed that whenever I plugged in the specified thumb drive into the phone, seed vault would automatically try to backup the data, this was particularly annoying and it is unable to be switched off. The only way round this was to plug in a new drive and specify that as a backup drive instead. I would quite like to see a feature for disabling serdvault backup via settings.
I would however like to say that I honestly appreciate the efforts of the graphene community and I love the privacy and security. I research it so much but never understand much of what I'm researching. I'm not technically minded but I appreciate the project and continued hard work immensely.
