Hey everyone,
Spent the last few weeks slowly migrating over to GrapheneOS, and my last real hurdle is getting any map app (outside Google Maps which I will not install) to "sustain" turn-by-turn directions while in use over Android Auto. Whenever I input a destination in Organic Maps, OSMAnd, or Magic Earth, navigation directions will appear for roughly 30 seconds, then reset back to just showing my location. I have tried this both on the Owner profile and a separate "Car" profile, with Google services turned on. Troubleshooting steps below:
To reproduce:
Input a destination in Organic Maps, OSNAnd, or Magic Earth
Start navigation
Wait 30 seconds
Navigation cancels and returns to just displaying location and map
Set Google Services and Android Auto permission to Allow for all items, issue persists
Location Services turned on in the OS settings
Turn off VPN, issue persists
Android Auto, Google Play Services, and Google Play itself are up to date.
Happens with both online and offline maps (only tested online maps with Magic Earth)
Nothing obvious in the logs from what I can tell
The only other behavior I noticed is that the reset seems to happen whenever any of the apps try to change their display view. I did see an error in the logs at one point that stated "image decoding logging dropped!" which seems to be related to the GPU, but is not consistent enough for me to think it's causing the issue. Any ideas or pointers would be appreciated.
