Mix of Informative videos from multiple sources but mainly Side Of Burritos and The Hated One paired with my own research on the project.
I was put off from the project at first due to the constant misinformation that it wasn't for everyone and that it had usability issues and stuff like that. And related to that I gotta say what a load of absolute crap. If anything I would argue this OS is actually better than most in that regard which makes these other Operating Systems look all the more shameful with not being able to even keep up with basic security standards.
Speaking of not being able to meet basic security standards my first custom OS was /e/OS. And that experience was so good I demoted that phone to the shelf, bought a pixel and switched to GrapheneOS in the same year!
Hahaha yeah after using /e/OS for a bit I had realized that it really wasn't anything special. Just a OS with forks of apps with special privileged integrations for their service and above all else both OS and Service are made by a completely dishonest company that constantly downplays actual security! (Don't take my word for it you can easily go see for yourself by checking developer and moderator posts on their forum it's absolutely shameful.)
GrapheneOS just feels honestly like how a OS should feel. Private, Secure, Respecting of the user and just overall not a headache. Kind of crazy when you think about that it's the standard of how everything should be but unfortunately is just not. Makes you all the more grateful though for the fact it does exist.
