Pixel 8 / WiFi slow

Got a Pixel 8 and everything set up but I am experiencing very slow WiFi download and upload speeds. As already mention other discussions I tried to switch on my home WiFi from "use per-connection randomized MAC (default)" to "use network-connection randomized MAC" but I did not get any changes regarding the speed.

I noticed two things:

The nearer I get to my router, the faster the connection gets. But we are still taking about the same room. Around 5m away the connection is very slow (around 500 KB/sec download speed, often dropping even below that). Right next to the router it's above 2 MB/sec download speed.
When enabling 4G/5G the connection is always very fast.

Any other ideas what I can do or try?

Try out Fing and check if there are any frequency clashes with nearby APs. Wifi becomes very slow in crowded areas like apartment buildings. The longer the distance, the slower speed you get due to an interference.
