TLDR: What exactly does the Google Play Services App have access to?
Hello friends,
I hope this isn't too dumb of a question so please bear with me here.
First off, I have been using GrapheneOS for almost three years now, with a single account and Play Services installed - and I'm loving Graphene - thanks so much for your continued effort.
Here comes:
So to my knowledge, Play Services are pretty isolated on Graphene as per the usage guide, just like any regular app. I was just wondering, how much access does it actually have?
Since I just remember logging in on the Google Play app back then, but the account is still listed under "Accounts for Owner" in the settings. Out of curiosity, I downloaded YouTube (I usually use an alternative client), and it automatically logged me into the app without doing anything, but I do not seem to be logged into Vanadium at all (hopefully!). This has me wondering, what exactly do the Play Services have access to and can share with other apps, since it can at least share at least some account information with the YouTube app. From the research I've done, my current setup is still much more private and secure than regular Android, but since I am oblivious to some of Android's technical details I was wondering to what extent exactly.
I realize that the single account setup isn't exactly the best and that if I wanted to I should switch to at least two accounts, but I figure it would be quite the hassle to detangle them after the fact.
Thanks for your time in advance.
