Copy/ Paste button

I am using the default keyboard.
My biggest issue is, that it does not have a "paste" button. I often have issues pasting stuff, because for whatever reason the paste icon sometimes just does not show up or is missing from the selection.

Is there some keyboard setting for a "paste" button that i do not know of? Or any way to give the default keyboard this button?

if it is missing, where can i request this feature?
(i think the keyboard is part of android project?)

I'm not using the default AOSP keyboard any more, but I think you touch and hold where you want to paste and an option to paste will show up.

yes sry i ment,
that this sometimes does not work for me, like it either is buggy and does not show up,
or the field shows up but the paste button is missing (instead it is only "select all" for example)

and i have had this issue also with gboard or whatever samsung uses,
but on their keyboards there was a button/ an option that you could press to paste aomething
(I think on gboard there is even like a buffer where all your previously copied stuff is saved, that you can access and when you click on it, it gets pasted)

so i mean i am looking for a button on the asop keyboard to paste, not this hold to paste behaviour

You see "Select all" instead of "Paste" only, if there is nothing to paste in the clipboard.
Then the app or the system hasn't recognised your wish to copy the last time marked text.
Then the one possible buffer is empty.
This is my experience.

–You have to copy your text again. Maybe the app or website you want copy from has a mechanism to protect the content against copying it?
–That's not a failure of GOS or your keyboard.

Maybe there is a clipboard app which can be a remedy?
It could also be a better solution because such clipboard tools can show a history of last used text phrases and you can select what you want to paste.
–But otherwise such a tool can be a security nightmare, if it stores also last copied passwords and keep them in memory instead of deleting them as fast as possible.

well i just tried it again to test a bit and no, there is some bug i think.

I just could not paste into a field again on a website,
i could paste into the field previously,
and i have confirmed that my paste buffer contained the data,
but the option just did not show up anymore

But there is apperantly a second issue (not really an issue but an explanation for some of these occurences), so sometimes the buffer really is empty, and the reason is bitwarden. I have set it to clear the buffer after 30 seconds, and it appears that if it puts something into the buffer, it just clears it after 30 seconds, regardless if the content did change (regardless if i already did copy something else inbetween), so it also deletes non bitwarden content

And yes thanky i agree i dont really want all my pastes saved aswell, i just want a button that can not fail

Same issue. On some apps, the paste button just doesn't exist. I have to manually copy my passwords. Have you had any luck finding a solution?

You could try FUTO keyboard, which has buttons for copy, cut and paste, as long as you have the right settings enabled on the keyboard (these are under actions in the futo keyboard app).
