Outside of schools where they gave the Chromebooks out for free they were not successful.
Specially in the tablet sector android/chrome os devices have no stand against iPads.
I think this will be buried after two or three years, just like several other services. They even stopped their gaming services Stadia, which was technically the best on the market, because they were too greedy and couldn't get game developers to publish on their service.
And I think this will happen here too. Software producers who produce for Windows and Linux are rare, why would they write software for a third computer OS?
So in the end it will be like the Google Tablet, that was killed already, and they will not be successful on the desktop too.
If you don't want AI, you can get Linux for free. If you want AI, you can have all services on a Windows PC or your smartphone.
Most people don't have a computer anymore, and each year less people buy one to replace their old system.
