File tranfers from Win 11 PC to Graphene'd Pixel 9a

Hi! I'm having difficulty getting file transfers to work from my PC over to Graphene.
I plug my phone in and make sure I have a good port and cable (otherwise it auto grey's out the options for file transfers and reverts to no data transfer), and I make sure I switch to "File transfer" in Settings > Connected Devices > USB > "Use USB for". My phone still doesn't show up on my PC as a device at all and I can't simply transfer anything that I'd like to. As far as I can tell, no notification pops up in Windows 11 to allow for transfers. I made sure to turn the USB-C port setting to "On" in Security & Privacy > Exploit Protection > USB-C Port just in case, but that didn't seem to help either. This is proving to be less of a straightforward process than I would expect. Am I missing anything or have I done anything wrong?

Odd. I don't even have a USB option in Settings > Connected Devices. Try Settings > System > Developer Options > Default USB Configuration.

EDIT: Figured out I had to actually plug in my USB to see it in Connected Devices. What is "USB Controlled By" set to? Mine is set to "This Device."

Also, if you're interested, an alternative to a direct USB connection is KDE Connect on both the phone and the computer along with WinSCP on the computer to handle the protocols KDE Connect uses that Windows doesn't have.

dregrinfuces I'm using LocalSend in the meantime, thanks for the alternative recommendation though. I went to developer options and it was by default set to "No Data Transfer", so I changed it to "File Transfer", but it doesn't seem to tangibly change the situation at all. Still no ability to see my phone on my computer. USB Controlled By is set to "This Device".

I also noticed that if I don't go into "USB" in connected devices after I plug my phone in, the USB option actually disappears after 5ish seconds. If I do go into USB from connected devices, it lets me stay in the menu until I exit (but the default option stays on, so it still doesn't revert back to No Data Transfer anymore) and then it disappears.

I should also note that I've used multiple different cords and ports, both USB-C/USB-C and USB-A/USB-C, same result all times.

The only other thing I can come up with is if Windows is blocking the connection. Do you have another computer you can try connecting the phone to?

Check under Windows Update > Advanced Options and see if there are any optional drivers for the phone available. If not, with the phone theoretically connected to the computer, in Windows, go to Device Manager and see if it's showing up under Portable Devices. If not, go to the View tab and change it to Show Hidden Devices. Does it show up in Device Manager with that setting? If it's there, try right-clicking on it and uninstalling it. Disconnect the phone, reboot the computer and try reconnecting. Hopefully, Windows will see the phone and re-install the necessary drivers.

My laptop stopped seeing my Pixel's storage some time ago, the culprit turned out to be Duet Display software. Try closing all programs you have running in the system tray? :-)
