I was wondering why my device was seemingly stuck on 2025073000 for several weeks now but it turns out that I had a pending update yet to be installed which therefore required a restart of the phone. So my initial problem has been solved, but I thought to write this short post simply requesting some small UX improvement because there was no indication after all of this time that an installation was indeed pending. I must've dismissed the initial notification nearly two months ago, and since then pressing the Check for updates button appeared broken, i.e. it did nothing: no mention that an update is pending, no mention of newer updates.
Some kind of regular notification (or some indication) that an update is pending would be nice to avoid getting into this scenario. A scenario which was possible because my battery hadn't completely drained, and the automatic rebooting feature hadn't triggered because I had always unlocked my phone within the default of 18 hours.
