Microsoft Teams/Outlook - Device is not compatible

Hi.
For work I have to use MS Teams and Outlook, there is no way around it. Im the only one using Android (small company).
I DO NOT want to have a second device just for work - but I need to be available on Teams for Calls when Im not in the office.

This morning, when I opened Outlook and Teams, I got "device is not compatible. App cannot be used due to root access on the device".
I immediately asked our IT provider to enable access again, however he tells me it's not something he has control of, it's a Microsoft thing.

Does anyone else have that problem/know a way around it?

In general MS Teams and authenticator work on GrapheneOS when PlayServices are installed. You don't have to be logged in. It even works without Play Services but Teams will not ring when someone is calling you which might be inacceptable.

That said, in the MS tenant of the company you can make zillions of settings about who can access which service and how. Those settings can be changed but they are hard to find if you are not a professional. And the default values do change over time. So it's clear that your IT provider could change the settings but they don't know how. That is a difficult social problem.

As a workaround you could try to use an alternate email client such as FairEmail with IMAP and Oauth. Teams and Outlook should also work in a browser.

I created another user on my phone (called work) where I enabled google services (for the sake of installing teams). I had to install Microsoft Intune as well and a comma unspecific authenticator app. All works fine and I always end the session after using it. It's a separate user though so I'm not sure I'm able to get notifications on my main profile.

fboro Hi could you please tell me how you made it work? When installed InTune it doesnt allow me to set up work profile saying that the phone is not compatible or something(forgot the exact msg). I tried everything but was not successful. I have P9.
