Question about Pixel Repair

So for about a year now my Pixel 8 has had a blob of dead pixels in the bottom right and a bright line coming out of it. The way that this actually happened was that a barbell dropped onto my phone and hit the BACK of the phone on the other side from where the dead pixels appeared. The screen has finally started breaking and flickering a ton so I need to fix it. My question is if this is likely just a screen replacement which Ifixit sells or if something else might be broken considering it was hit from the back? If any communtiy knows that doesn't involve me having to make a reddit account it's this one. Thanks!

P.S. Should graphene ever partner with a secure and more repairable phone manufacturer it will be the last phone I ever buy

I can't promise, but I think the screen+digitizer will get you going again.

Slightly off topic as your discussing a screen issue, I heard the pixel 8 has the USB C socket soldered right to the main board. The better way used in the past was a flex cable. Doesn't make too much sense. How many of us have replaced - back cover, screen, digitizer, battery or usb port? You know your going to have to replace 1 of the 5 if you plan on using your phone for years. lol
I wonder if it was a ploy to get everyone to use wireless charging. haha
