First time I use a Chromium-based web browser, not to say on GrapheneOS — so this question may be either easy to answer, or have no answer at all. Until now, all my experience has been with Mozilla Firefox on OpenBSD, where hardening the browser is done with a combination of JSON (Firefox policies) and local settings (local-settings.js and mozilla.cfg) files.
Vanadium is a great foundation for a secure web browser; I understand the security part is done by the GrapheneOS developers, all settings look sensible to me. Nothing to say here, all seems ok with a browser that uses all the security features provided by the operating system and has the right settings by default. Same about privacy with relation to information shared with Google, all perfect on this browser.
I want, however, to reduce the browser fingerprinting on Vanadium iff posible. Cover Your Tracks shows there is room for some improvement here. Is there some sort of tracking protection that can be enabled on Vanadium to make it less unique on the eyes of data brokers? Preferably, something that can be enabled in a text configuration file, so it can be maintained on a version control system like cvs(1).
I am running GrapheneOS on a Pixel Tablet; no additional software installed right now, just what is provided in the base system —that looks enough for my needs— so would like to continue using this minimal setup. Just want to add some fingerprinting protection to a browser that looks great on the security and privacy areas right now.
Thanks a lot for developing —and using— this superb operating system, and to this great community as valuable as the operating system itself.
