Even a full-time GrapheneOS developer can't always tell from a crash dump what has gone wrong -- especially for a closed-source app. But in general more experience will lead to better guesses.

Personally I don't use WhatsApp for anything. The crash-dump format is designed so that it's not generally likely to leak personal information, and indeed you will fairly frequently see people posting crash dumps on this forum. System log files, on the other hand, can contain personal information.
