Just FYI, GrapheneOS made it possible - one private space per User profile, not just for the Owner.

Not sure I quite know what you mean. If the private space is unlocked, you can still swipe down from the top of the screen twice and switch profiles.

Unless you think by swiping down twice quickly switches profiles? It does not, you have to swipe down twice and click on the little person icon. Not sure if that's what you meant by "simply by swiping quickly twice" but just to be clear, you can't do it by swiping quickly :)

Also, Oggyo 's post is helpful. Apparently you can have private spaces in more than one profile. I just wasn't aware of that

Good to know, and handy. Last time I heard it was just owner profile so that is a nice improvement

I set mine up much as I setup Qubes or a Network. Default Admin account is never used for any normal daily activity. It is strictly administrative. I then create all my user profiles. I install all apps in Admin including sandboxed google. I download all the apps that will be used in all my other profiles in Admin. I then force stop and disable google service & play.. Then I go into manage users into mange each profile and install all apps required in each profile. Then disable all the downloaded apps in Admin with only a few exceptions. Then Iĝ go and config my user profiles and setupmany syncing.
I use a nextclouds service for KeePass2Android. The DB is encrypted with high cost and login with Fido2. Not exactly sure what exactly a nefarious admin at the nextcloud provider really can do. Always connect profiles thru paid VPN or Tor.
Tbe nextcloud setup keeps all the profiles I use my KP2A and other devices sync'd. Use EtaSync for my contacts calendar and tasks across profiles and other machines. I regularly schedule a time to enable google services to get updates for those play apps. Fairly easy to setup a alt/alias Id google account. I never use gmail anymore. Cleared it out stopped all subsribed advo mailing lists etc. Deleted and wipec all my account info etc for what little good it does, but its been years. I kept the account open so someone could not takeover the address and spoof me and phish people that knew me by that addy. But its blocked from recieving any mail. Coming up on five yrs soon and I'll delete it completely.

My thought are if all the google play supplied apps and google services are all disabled as well as sandboxed and that profileus ne er used for activity that greatly reduces the ve tors for google to leech use data off my phone. Only knows what apps are downloaded unded the alias user account with a defunct unassociated phone nunber. Never connected without vpn or tor.

los2cos2gos Google Lite is just the name I made up for one of my "Profiles".
It is Google Maps with a random Google account I made. I have tested all the non spyware "Maps" apps and Everything is terrible compared to Google Maps. "Obviously just talking about how it is for everyday use for a normal person, not about privacy".

So my "Google Lite" is just the last bit of junk with no better solution.... But with a random GMail account That I will re make probably every 6 months. It is a random Gmail. Not my original Gmail.

I am a stupid amateur. If you need real privacy and are not just annoyed with being spyed on do not listen to my advice. I am just a person who hates what android has become. I am not a privacy expert. My advice is for the basic user annoyed with google, who was scared to switch over to Graphene.

But GrapheneOS is great.

I wanted to add I might have been to hasty when I said all other maps apps are Terrible... OsmAnd+ is pretty good. I just needed a "Trial by Fire" to get used to it. There is a lot of friction trying to get used to something different when your so used to one app, "GoogleMaps" and used it every day since you could drive...

OsmAnd+ is much less convince to quickly find a location to navigate to. But if I slow down, and plan out trips before im in the vehicle. And manualy add the locations I frequent when im not in a rush... I realized its really pretty good.

A while practicing useing it and intensely setting it up and I think ill be able to get rid of Google Maps.

Sorry for Rant. Just felt bad saying the other Maps apps sucked before giveing them a real try.

CharlieMander You may want to check if in your case, a combination of 1) https://github.com/woheller69/maps (or simple web access to gmaps through a privacy-concious browser) for POIs and 2) waze limited by rethinkdns for Navigation; may fit your needs.

osmand unfortunately is not usable for a car navigation as it lacks real-time inputs from the real world. There is a way to display traffic on the map (a layer from gmaps), but it's not operational (doesn't influence the routing)

You are right. I can agree that no open source maps app comes close to beating google maps. But they do work decently! I mean like, Gmaps will give you alternate routes whereas Magic Earth or OSMAnd will only give you one route until you start going a different way and then it reroutes you. OSMAnd is a lot better than Magic Earth though. If I make a wrong turn in the city on magic earth, it keeps saying turn right and recalculating over and over. It also tells you to turn at the last minute. OSMAnd is better, it will reroute you if you make a wrong turn and it tells you about stops/turns way sooner than Magic Earth.
