Is it possible to use Websocket with Molly for notifications

Hi,

I came here from CalyxOS (on a Pixel 8a) but am unable to get molly to provide notifications. It worked flawlessly and reliably on CalyxOS (where I installed molly after installing accrescent and getting it from there).

I tried without Playstore first, and then with it installed (but not logged in). (But I am not sure why this should even be an issue given than molly is not downloaded from the Playstore and likely does not exist there, though I have not checked that carefully for that. But I thought i should mention it just in case.)

Are there settings that I should also be looking at? (In CalyxOS, molly's notifications worked even with minimal (next to none) settings turned on on microG.

I am aware of UP service, but I wonder why I have not been able to get Websocket to work at all.

Hello,

Molly-FOSS (the version on Accrescent) should use websocket out of the box. I don't think sandboxed google services affect it in any way.

Did you try changing battery settings to unrestricted for Molly?

It's also important to know that notifications per WebSocket only work while Molly's database is not locked. If you want to get notifications while Molly is locked you must use UnifiedPush instead.
