App issue on f-droid

I recently downloaded an app from f-droid.. The file size is unusually large. After downloading the app, my phone seems to heat up more easily. What is the likelihood of there being a bug and how do I check if it really is the case?

Would be helpful to know what app, if you don't mind sharing.

Also, have a look at F-droid forum and see if there are any reports about this app.

Check also the Github/Gitlab etc. of the developer to see if any similar issue has been reported.
