"WhatsApp won't work unless you enable Google Play Services"

Hello guys,

I installed GrapheneOS this month. I'm using WhatsApp normally and everything works fine even with the Google Play services disabled. But today, the WhatsApp has sent a warning:
"WhatsApp won't work unless you enable Google Play services"

But, the app is still apparently working normally. Is there any background activity not working if that service is disabled?

You can download the WhatsApp app directly from WhatsApp's website. Or you can add it to Obtainium and download it from there. There's actually a Complex Obtanium configuration for whatsapp. Find it at apps.obtainium.imranr.dev .
