Could GOS add a DC dimming option to the settings menu?

Just like the new option to disable PWM added in the iPhone 17 with iOS 26 settings, could you add it to the Pixel 10 as well? At the moment, the official Pixel 10 system only supports 480Hz PWM.

You should switch to another phone. 480Hz is plenty enough. Besides, what you want is impossible because PWM is driven by hardware. SW developers can't do anything about that. If you found article about phone that do over 1kHz and anything less is harmful, is just advertisement.

I really do hope GOS can add this option to the Pixel 10. That way, I could finally switch from my iPhone 11 to the Pixel 10. I really like the openness of Android and have had enough of iOS’s closed ecosystem. Unfortunately, because of the PWM issue, I’m still sticking with iOS.

As far as I know, it’s already possible to change the PWM frequency after rooting. I hope GOS can achieve this without the need for root.

At a technical level I believe it can be built into the OS (e.g sans root). However I do not think all potential solutions for the PWM issue are equivalent.

I would be very surprized if the phone supported DC brightness, as the underlying power circuit is different. PWM uses a power MOSFET with a digital driving signal, a DC requires either a filter on the PWM output or a linear regulator. >400 Hz is already extremely fast compared to your eyeball. I expect the Iphone adds filtering to the PWM to get a DC output.
