Thanks, not keen of providing my home address to a Chinese company. I could set it up somewhere else but I'd have to disassemble the large controller (140-lbs) and take with me.
Having written that, I will check their website and see if they have a small thingy that uses the same app. I can take that to town and then return the small thingy. Some solar stuff has stand-alone communication boxes for older controllers. Might get lucky.
Only thing being, the app may want to check the GPS Location every time it is used. Curses, foiled again. :)
Thinking even more about it, I may be able build an Arduino thingy that monitors several cables. I have a Fluke clip-on current meter that measures DC-current, so will look into how that is done and maybe write my own data tracking system.
