Hello.
My second post in this forum. I am a new GrapheneOS user, not a cell phone but a Pixel tablet one (never owned a smartphone either with GrapheneOS or other operating system) in half a century. I am considering buying a Pixel smartphone with GrapheneOS in the near future, as I think this one is —finally— a device we can trust. No promises here, however!
I have a question about the cycle count on the battery of my new Pixel tablet: when it arrived —one week ago— first thing I did was installing GrapheneOS (only booted the previous operating system to unlock the device bootloader). At first, GrapheneOS shown "0 cycles" for the battery, manufactured in mid-2023.. As I usually do to any new device, first step was fully charging the battery to improve the training process. I used it the next five days, until it reached 15% charge, at that point I turned the Pixel tablet off and fully charged it, before enabling the battery optimizer to improve its lifespan. I guess next charges will be done with GrapheneOS running, so it can choose the maximum charge to improve battery life and charge estimation accuracy.
I have found, however, that after this full charge, the PIxel tablet shows a cycle count of 11 cycles. Is it normal moving from a "0 cycle count" to "11 cycle count" on a single charge? I understand that a new device may have a cycle count greater than zero, but this one moved from zero cycles to eleven cycles on a single battery charge. So I fear I may be doing something wrong. I am using a charger that is running on low-power mode (approx. 14 Watts) to avoid overheating the battery.
Thanks!
