Lowest notification and ring tone volume is very loud

Hi, using a pixel 7 and have set notifications to the lowest step on the volume bar but the sound is still very loud. Is there something wrong or is this just the OS setting decision (i.e. deciding that that decibel is the lowest possible)? Any advice on how to lower the volume further?

Same issue here. I've set it the lowest I can, right before the mute and its still very loud. Pixel 7a, build 2025092700.

Comparing other sliders at the same position as the quietest the notification volume: media volume and call volume is much quieter; ring volume is quieter; alarm volume is a bit quieter.

In conclusion, it all over the place with the volume settings. No consistency among the levels and some on the lowest slider settings are still too loud.

That's because sound power is not linear
Visually at 50% on the slider is 80% of sound level physically.
The first steps are loud, after 50% on the slider it become less noticeable between each steps
