I previously had a problem with a single Pixel 6A that could never reconnect to ANY wifi access points after disabling Airplane Mode or disconnecting from mobile data without enabling Airplane mode and restarting the phone. I tried resetting Internet, ending the profile session - all sorts of combinations but nothing could make access points appear in wifi other than enabling airplane mode & a complete restart of the phone.
Whenever the phone would restart with Airplane mode disabled, or if it was disabled at any point - wifi wouldn't work afterwards. Basically - it seemed that if the cellular modem was activated - then wifi would no longer work. I had a previous thread about it & some thought that it could be hardware problem.
That was earlier on in the year when I was testing GrapheneOS. An NGO that I help out with technical/security assistance have now switched many of their phone to GrapheneOS. They have an assortment of Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro through to Pixel 9. All of their phones have the exact same problem. I have personally seen the same problem on about 20 phones and can confidently presume that it is not the same hardware problem on all of them.
The problematic phones/users are stationed on a project in 1 particular country. So they have all used SIMs from that country. Can it be anything to do with the SIMs?
