GOS & Organic Maps TTS

Hello everyone,

I have installed the latest GOS and Organic Maps on a 9a.

Sherpa-TTS was recommended in a thread here in the forum.
I installed it and entered it in GOS, and the test works there.
I also entered it in Organic Maps and the test works there as well.

However, Organic does not output any speech while driving.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

It didn't work for me either.
If you use play services in the profile you have organic maps in, you can install googles voice detection and synthesis from the play store and install the desired language packs (from phone settings menu for languages) and afterwards you can deny it network access.

This worked with organic maps for me and it also allows languages other than English.

If it doesn't work at first try just reboot the phone, afterwards it worked in my case.

Make sure that you reconfirm Preferred engine in Settings > System > Languages > Text to-speech output even though it's already selected. I vaguely recall it mentioned at some point in this forum.

I've used Organic Maps and I'm currently using the CoMaps fork with Sherpa TTS. It seemed pretty straightforward to me, but I guess you need to go through all necessary settings, including Organic/Co Maps, Sherpa TTS, and the OS TTS settings (like DeletedUser495 mentioned). I haven't opened any of these settings since setting everything up.
