I'm having the same problem and, as for granx, it started after an OS update at december 19/20, 2025.
I'm using Molly with ntfy and since then I don't get notifications about new messages anymore or, if I get them, they are significantly delayed.
Of course all the settings of background usage etc. are checked and are as they should be.
First I thought that it might work again after another OS updates but in the meantime there were a few without any improvement. The Github thread that pingu-the-penguin mentioned above, was closed as the issue wasn't considered as an OS issue. Well, might be right, but it started after an OS update.
It's pathetic!
What we can see so far, is that
- it is not related to specific app as it occurs with several apps
- it is not related to FCM as for example I am not using FCM
- it is not even related to a specific OS as users of e/OS experience the same problem
- it is not related to a specific update of whatever because users experience this problem since a long time
I will now try anhedonias workaround and see if it works for me as well and how it affects battery life.
Anyway, I would prefer are more sustainable and more comprehensible solution.
