Speculation on whether Google will Increase Pixel 6 and 7 Support to 7 years

What does the GOS team think of the idea of Google extending Pixel 6 and 7 annual update support to 7 years? Since these phones have Tensor, other Tensor phones have a 7-year guarantee, and Google has already extended version update support with these phones in the past, could we see Google extend support even further to match the other Tensor phones? Furthermore, would Graphene continue to develop for these phones if this occured?

Syberkonda Google has no reason to add more support for 6 or 7 pixel series devices and they already extended support once.They're no longer producing or selling them. It's possible that Google produce a security update or two after the end of support (depend of the vulnerabilities severity) but don't expect much more.

Syberkonda Almost certainly not going to happen, especially with them no longer bothering to keep up with the tiny monthly updates for them but rather only quarterly/yearly updates. 5 years is already more than strictly promised for OS updates which we always expected them to do in practice since it's too hard to make a whole separate LTS branch.

MTE will also be increasingly important for security and is Pixel 8 or later only.

If they did extend it, we could continue support, but we would need more resources earlier than expected to handle more devices at the same time than expected.
