Hi. I am new to this so sorry in advance for every mistake i'm gonna make. I spent the day looking into manuals and specifics, let me say this os is wonderful, i'm so glad i discovered it.
A few days back, a friend of mine told me he used the work profile from shelter to put every not open source app, every app he didn't trust. So i thought about it a bit and was wondering if that would be a good idea or not. I got into searching and compared mostly work profile/main profile/private space/secondary user.
What i came to understand is that shelter seems a bit more interesting in terms of isolation, compared to private, and a lot more compared to main profile. (i have to specify that i would like to stay on 1 profile for these apps and not change each time). So i searched a bit and discovered the "freeze" and "pause" options from shelter. Now my questions are
-how do freeze and pause compare? I came to understand that pause disables the app until further notice, blocking it from running in background, while freeze would do something like deleting the app, keeping only the apk and data tied to it, reinstalling it when necessary. What is the difference between these two? Why delete the app and not just disable it?
-I saw a chart recently that showed the different levels of isolation, showing how shelter/profiles and users were separated in a neat visual. I'm sorry to ask you that but does someone know what i'm talking about? I can't seem to find it again.
-What can an app do if i decide to not disable it (say google play for example), in a classic phone? Can it read data from other apps? What's the danger here? I came to understand they can see what other apps are installed but i didn't hear from any other risk.
Thank you very much for the time, i hope this post is not a nuisance. I thought it could be useful to other people as i had a hard time finding differences in terms of isolation.
