What about the google playstore and gmsCompact should those also be set to unrestricted?

Play Store should be Optimized. It might be fine as Restricted, but Optimized is what's well tested.

Play services will have issues without Unrestricted and that may drain battery even though that's counterintuitive.

I've got another system update this morning and it seems to calm down "System applications" to 37% of battery consumption. Hope it is solved now.

I don’t know … I have the feeling that since some update a few months ago the battery endurance of my 6a is noticably shorter than it used to be. I installed GOS right after buying the Phone in 2024 and the battery has been charged 156 times according to Android settings. I don’t know how much exactly I use the phone, but the screen is on way less than 1h per day.

heliumvoice If your P6a is properly updated now, and no OS-warning about the battery has shown, then something about your setup is implicated to be causing this.

You need to give us more details, what is installed?
Have Adb, Shizuku or Developer options been used for any reason what so ever?

Affected by a bad battery shown after the release. Have a look at Settings - System - Device diagnostics - Component health - Battery status. How much capacity is being left?

No ADB or Shizuku. I use the developer options to set LDAC to 44,1kHz/24bits, when I use LDAC, which only happens rarely.

I have installed a number of apps. Signal, Threema Libre, VLC, OSMAnd, Symphony, Editor, aCalendar and Tuta are the ones I use more or less regularly. I haven’t installed any apps shortly before noticing the drop in battery endurance.

Quantum I guess it might depend on model, i vaguely remember reading here somewhere that indeed on for example pixel 6 isn't accurate. Perhaps it works only from a specific 'newer' model and onwards. I could be wrong though.

r134a I did write in a post I made that google said the feature was only for pixel 8a and above. But i dont have any info if it work correctly on those phones either.

Quantum I have p9p and it works 'correctly', it is reporting 98% with 300+ cycles.

Still kinda annoying it doesnt work for my phone. But I just got a new pixel 8 through warranty so im good.

Also on a P9P recognized: battery health decreased from 100% to 98% after exactly 70 cycles, then to 96% after exactly 80 cycles then - after exactly 91 cycles - to 95%. So I don't know how 'correct' it works but if, it not only depends on the phone model but maybe also on the battery model. There might be different ones (form different manufacturers) used for the same models.

Quantum Fwiw i never check this but some months ago it stated 93%. Now 98%.
When it was 93% i did use the limit charging to 80% option, now i don't. Might be battery wasn't calibrated for a while when it reported 93%.

Could be. On the mentioned P9P charging limit option is also used (not from the beginning, started to use maybe between 30-50 cycles, but automatic calibration never worked, it never charged to 100% without user intervention. For calibration limit option was disabled every 2 to 3 weeks for "manual" calibration but none of these ever changed the battery health status.
